19 February 2014
The Trouw Nutrition GB analytical laboratory at Ashbourne, Derbyshire has achieved the prestigious ISO 17025 quality accreditation, known as UKAS, for all its major chemical analytical techniques.
“The major chemical analytical techniques undertaken at Ashbourne have passed all the stages of audit and found to meet the exacting quality standards of UKAS,” comments Laboratory Quality Manager, Mike Tomblin. ‘UKAS accreditation adds a further layer of quality assurance to our independent laboratory service.”
The laboratory carries out a wide range of specific analyses using a broad range of methods focused on either traditional 'wet' chemistry techniques or NIR spectrophotometry, to ensure accurate, cost effective, rapid results. Samples analysed include feed materials and finished feeds, minerals, water and milk, and in addition, Trouw Nutrition GB are the largest conserved forages and fresh grass analytical laboratory for the UK livestock industry.
“Increasing expectations on all stages of the food chain has intensified demands on our laboratory customers. UKAS accreditation adds a further layer of quality assurance to meet these demands. We are pleased to have the quality of our work officially recognised by the UKAS standard,” Mr Tomblin concludes.
